Aperam South America celebrates 70 years of history.

2011

ArcelorMittal shareholders approve the spin-off of the stainless segment establishing the creation of Aperam.

2007

Worldwide launching of ArcelorMittal brand. Acesita is now called ArcelorMittal Stainless Brazil.

1998

The Company completes its fourth expansion plan increasing the stainless steel line capacity.

1994

Creation of Aperam Acesita Foundation.

1993

Creation of Oikós Environmental Education Centre.

1992

Privatization of the Company.

1980

The first grain oriented electrical steel coil is processed for experimentation purposes.

1977

Stainless steel production starts operation.

1974

Creation of the affiliate Florestal Acesita S.A., today Aperam BioEnergia.

1965

Official start of stainless steel production.

1957

Inauguration of the water treatment plant.

1955

Production of electrical steel plates is initiated.

1951

Bessemer steel plant operates to start production of common and special steels.

1949

The first pig iron heat takes place at Blast Furnace No. 1

Former Acesita was established on 31st October.
